On Halloween, the local police shut down my neighborhood. Car entry is prohibited. It becomes a pedestrian paradise for trick-or-treaters.
And this is our first year of joining in the fun!
We decided to give our house a little trick and a little treat as a witches lair - complete with spider guards.
1. Black spider web and spiders from GrandinRoad ($29).
2. Black floral wreath made by me, idea from Family Circle.
2. White spider webs and small plastic spiders from Michaels ($1.99 -$4.99).
3. White pumpkins spray painted with black metallic paint.
Starting today and every post leading up to Halloween, I’ll show you how to make a lair of your own.
Do you trick or treat your house?

GREAT job!!! Festive, without being too scary :). Love it!
Looks fabulous!
Amazing! I love Halloween decorations. When I was a kid, there was a woman who made her place like a witch's lair. Scared the heck out of me!
Our subd is crazy about Halloween. We have a gazillion trick or treaters & several parties going on. Your porch looks so pretty!

I will celebrate once we move but my parents don't decorate as much....but I plan taking my nephew out.
Wow. I'm impressed! 4+ years into this mommy thing I still have my Halloween decor in a box in the garage this year. I used to decorate like crazy pre-kids and now... well let's see what tomorrow holds. But generally I do decorate inside & bring the jack-o-lantern out on Halloween night. Last year we only had one trick or treater. Clearly we live on a different street than you ;o) Sounds fun! I'm totally envious of your lush green grass!
Love the decorations! I'm jealous of your neighborhood and how seriously they take Halloween. We won't get to participate this year because Husband has an interview, but I will live vicariously through your posts!
Awesome that the streets are shut down!! You place looks great!
So impressed with the spray-painted pumpkins! And I can attest - it looks great in person!
