I know this isn’t what you were expecting - nursery photos will be later this week - but thought I would give you all an update on what’s been going on...
That is to say, labor.
Yep, a whole 5 weeks early.
Fortunately, we were able to stop it...for now. The doctor is hoping that we’ll at least be able to keep it off until gestation is 36 weeks, that way we can keep Baby V out of NICU. So for the next six days, I’m on medication to, hopefully, keep me from going into labor again.
After the time is up, I might go back into labor, I might not. My body might wait until I’m at 41 weeks to try again.
No one knows.
What we do know is that Baby V and mommy are both doing fine. The medication is keeping my blood pressure under control and Baby V is performing beautifully in all tests. We also know that Baby V is pretty much in position at this point, with her head very low.
And finally, we know that the next time I go into labor, they won’t try to stop it, no matter how far along I am.
So until then, I’m on bed rest. I’m getting plenty of sleep and relaxation, and we have the best family and in-laws providing us with plenty of support and help in finishing up the preparations for our little arrival.
But in the mean time, if you could please send up a little prayer, we’d really appreciate the help.
See, as excited as we are to meet our little one, we’d really like to keep Baby V inside just a wee bit longer so her lungs have more time to develop. Another week and a half would be just perfect.
Wishing everyone an uneventful and beautiful week.
