It's been awhile since I've answered this question, and being that the blog has evolved a bit, this is probably a good time to answer it.
When I think of the word housewife, I picture Mrs. Cleaver from Leave It To Beaver:
You know the type - always has the menu planned for the week, but can seamlessly handle an unexpected change in dinner plans; the children are always well-behaved and magically entertain themselves; babies anticipates her husbands needs before they are thoughts in his minds - like a martini as he walks in the door; spotless home and everything is always in perfect order.
But life isn't always in perfect order.
And as much as I'd love to plan a weekly menu based on our CSA box for the week, schedule my kids daily activities, cook, clean and care for the home, as well as my husband, not necessary in that order, I just can't.
Maybe one day I will be able to do it all, but until then, this is me:
Hi, I'm a Suburban Housewife-in-Training. Life is crazy and so am I. Sometimes I forget about dinner and we order pizza. Sometimes the kitchen looks like a disaster zone. Sometimes we scrap our daily plans - classes, errands and all - to head to the beach for a picnic or the park to play.
